Yoga for Athletes
I have always had a passion and interest in athletics and find myself analyzing movement in sports. I love to research and watch athletes of all levels and develop yoga practices unique for the required performance and movement in each discipline.
I have developed customized yoga classes/workshops for Athletes in the following disciplines:
Dance
Downhill Skiing
Soccer
Yoga classes/workshops for other athletic disciplines can be designed upon request.
Yoga and Nutrition for Teens
Yoga: In working with teens, I have consistently heard feedback that they feel so rested and calm following my yoga sequences. It became clear to me how badly teens need more rest and stillness. Today's youth are overscheduled and have many pressures on them. I explore many yoga techniques like restorative yoga, yoga nidra and meditation to counteract the effects of over-activity and stress in young people.
Nutrition: I offer loving and realistic nutritional considerations for the developing teenage body and mind. In the spirit of "Food is Medicine" Yoga uses whole foods so that the mind can be more clear, sharp and stable and the body can be free from aches and pains preserving flexibility and mobility. I share simple tips for making wise choices that will nourish the body and fuel the entire being so that teens can perform at both their physical peak as well as their full mental capability. My suggestions are realistic and flexible with an understanding that teens need the ability to explore food and have fun.
